What we expect
  • In this role, you will become knowledge in LED and Laser technologies, and you will become familiar with real application use-cases for LEDs and Lasers. You will be expected to work on-site in the Novi, MI office.
  • Support the lead SSE with PCB design work. You will become experienced using Altium schematic capture and Altium PCB design tools. You will also be tasked with creating and managing an electronic component library within Altium.
  • Other duties include creating Excel based calculators or conducting various tests
  • (electrical, optical, and thermal) which directly support customer requests. Performing basic electrical SPICE modeling and creating basic 3D CAD modeling using Solidworks.
  • Will participate in electronics laboratory work which include building prototype electronic and lighting modules, designing and fabricating demonstrators and mock-ups, and assembling Printed Circuit Boards (PCB). You will become experienced with PCB soldering, operating a PCB routing machine, and you will become familiar with the use of various electronic metrology equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, function generators, power supplies, etc.
  • The Internship will take place in the Fall of 2022 (September - December). The position can be part time and requires you to be present in the office in Novi, MI USA.

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's of Science in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Technology, Computer Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering or related field
  • The ideal candidate will have started their journey to become an electrical or computer engineer in their studies.
